Design Development

As we continue to perfect integral insulation solutions at IMMICO, we also look to current serial productions for ways which we can improve the thermal performance.

The original design was to have the insulation only welded to the pipe and not touching the compensator. As show in the picture below, this results in the complete area of the compensator acting as a hot spot and loss of thermal efficiency.

Through developing foil patterns in house, we have produced a solution to insulate directly on to the compensator. The drive for this development was to improve the thermal efficiency by increasing the insulation coverage.

Approval was given by the customer for the improved design. Rapid changes were made to the drawings, not to hold up the delivery schedule set by the customer. As seen below the first batch was sent out with in the week. The ends are taped due to the pipe being mild steel, therefore must be coated.
